  • International Ministries

Over 1,300 students and their families live in Pullman. The world has come to our small city. Many come with great interest in American culture. Many have much admiration and appreciation of Americans and the American higher education system. We have had many Chinese say to us we have never been inside of a church building. For the first time they meet Christians who are kind and interested in them. They also come from educational system with no believe in God. Now for the first time they want to understand about spiritual things. Through Sunday conversation Bible classes, weekday conversation classes, parties, and excursions of various kinds they are introduced to loving Christians who demonstrate Christ-like qualities towards them. The objective of Emmanuel’s ministry to Internationals is to meet their spiritual, social, emotional and intellectual needs. It is with joy that we welcome Internationals to our fellowship and the opportunities that we provide for them. We are also grateful for what we have learned from our guests from other countries and all that they teach us about their culture and countries.

We participate in the Host family program at WSU called "Family and Friends". This is a hospitality program which matches International Students with Pullman families and singles. New participants are always welcome.

International Women's Bible Study is on summer break and will resume in September at 404 Terrace.

3 Conversation classes using the Bible meet on Sunday morning at 9am.

  • Our weekly conversation classes are called "Lets Talk" and meet each Monday and Wednesday from 9-11 am, beginning September 8th. We have four levels of classes and childcare is provided for preschool children. Anyone is welcome to come to any of these classes and they are free. Americans can be involved by being a "teacher in training" or a teacher or by helping with the children once a week.

Please contact Bob and Colleen Harvey for more information at bcharvey@pullman.com or 334-4233 or 432-3442.
